I'm sure you have all seen the adds for this device in newspapers and on TV for months, but I never knew anyone who actually had tried one until I received the Big Boss Blender & Soup Maker from Amazon this week.
I decided to use one of the recipes included in their cookbook instead of one of my own to make sure I gave a product I was pretty sceptical of a fair chance.
Soup the easy way: add ingredients and press a button. The Blender & Soup Maker heats, cooks, and blends automatically.
The recipe was for Corn and Chicken Soup, and the directions were pretty simple. Add the ingredients, hit a button and 30 minutes later I was supposed to have soup for four ready to eat.
The first soup from our new soup maker actually came out amazingly good with almost no effort.
It seemed a little thin, but actually was pretty decent, and was cooked through and blended in exactly thirty minutes. The family was quite impressed, and I was blown away that it actually worked as easily as described.
If you love soup and want a way to make it easier and with almost zero effort, this is an awesome idea that deserves a spot on your counter top.
One of the coolest projects to come along in awhile on Kickstarter is The PopcornBall, a simple and elegant product that was designed to solve one of snackings oldest problems: How do you get butter and salt on ALL the popcorn?
A ball with finger holds on two ends to make spinning easier and a wide opening with a secure latch on the top to facilitate filling and snacking, a quick spin once butter and popcorn are added allows butter to easily and fairly equally distribute according to it's inventor.

In November of 2013 a design firm in New York called Pollen Designs launched a project on Kickstarter.com for a new type of storage container they called EVAK, which was designed to remove air from the container while the lid was put in place, creating a vacuum seal and helping to keep dry goods fresh longer.

We make a lot of rice here at Fat Boy Heaven, and this is supposed to cut cooking time in half.
This week I was sent this Microwave Rice Cooker from Sistema, and we decided to give it a try tonight. The cooker claims to save more than half of the cooking time for steamed rice, and anything that reduces prep time in my kitchen is a good thing.

This arrived today, and I had to smile. A 3.5v power screwdriver in the shape of a handgun. It works fairly well, but doesn't have much power. It will be fine fora home screws, but won't have enough power to drive into hard woods.
